The Geo-Matrix™ Split cushion is often used to provide comfort for users who require gentle positioning and contouring with excellent pressure redistribution and vibration control. The Split cushion features an 8” split directly through the centre of the pommel. This allows wedges to be inserted under one or even both sides of the cushion’s leg trough region to accommodate the desired hip angle required for each individual user.
A “fit kit” of various wedges can be added to compliment the Split cushion. Each wedge secures to the base of the cushion using Velcro. These wedges can be added or removed as needed for on-the-spot customization. This also allows for modifications to be easily made to the cushion if the user’s condition should change.
The Geo-Matrix™ Split is indicated for users at moderate to high risk of skin breakdown, as well as for treatment of pressure injuries.
To further the Split’s custom feel and protection there are different insert options that may be added underneath the high risk coccyx section. These inserts are:

Our Geo-Matrix™ seating system offers people the ability to sit longer without discomfort. The innovative gel and gel/foam layers effectively manage pressure with enhanced immersion qualities. Blood flow is increased and peak pressure points are minimized because Geo-Matrix™ gel columns share the pressure load from bony prominences, which increases the “footprint” and inherently decreases pressure. This stimulates wound healing and reduces the risk of pain-related problems and skin breakdown.

Pressure Redistributing
Proven pressure redistribution through the Geo-Matrix™ gel’s columnar collapse. As the column walls collapse under peak pressure points, the neighbouring walls stretch to take on the pressure and expand it through a wider area, creating a larger “footprint” and eliminating peak pressure points. This, paired with the gel’s immensely immersive properties make Geo-Matrix™ a leader in preventing skin break down and healing existing ulcers.

Geo-Matrix™ gel is not affected by outside temperatures. Meaning the gel will not freeze when cold, and will not become fluid when warmed. Washable
Yes, Geo-Matrix™ gel can be machine washed! The gel can also be submerged, scrubbed, and sprayed.
